How Many Cloth Diapers Do I Need?
The right number depends on how often you change, how often you wash and how fast things dry. Use this quick guide to plan your stash.
The quick formula
Diapers needed = changes per day × days between washes + a few extras for drying time.
| Your plan | Suggested diapers |
|---|---|
| Just trying cloth | 2–4 |
| Part-time, daytime at home | 6–10 |
| Full-time, wash daily | 10–14 |
| Full-time, wash every 2 days | 16–20 |
These are starting points. Keep a tally of your baby’s changes for a few days and adjust. In the monsoon, keep a few extras because diapers take longer to dry.
Which pack should I buy?
- Single diaper: test fit and routine.
- Pack of 2: an easy starter set.
- Pack of 3: one to wear, one to wash, one spare.
- Pack of 4: the quickest way to build a daily rotation.
Each TOKOMAMY diaper comes with its own insert pad. Because they are one size, you buy once and adjust the snaps as your baby grows.
