Travelling with Cloth Diapers
Cloth diapering on the go just needs a little planning. Here is what to pack for outings, family visits and longer trips.

Day outings
- Pack one cloth diaper for roughly every 2–3 hours out, plus a spare.
- Carry a zippered wet bag for used diapers.
- Bring a few wipes and a changing mat.
Family visits and short trips
- Ask if you can use a washing machine, or plan a hand wash every evening.
- Shells dry faster than inserts, so pack a few spare inserts.
- Hang diapers near a fan or in shade to dry overnight.
Long journeys
For long train journeys or flights where washing is not possible, many parents switch to disposables for the trip and go back to cloth at home. That is perfectly fine; cloth diapering does not have to be all-or-nothing.
Travel checklist
- Cloth diapers and inserts
- Extra inserts for long stretches
- Wet bag (and a spare)
- Wipes and a changing mat
- Small pack of mild detergent for longer stays
